When vacationing at Walt Disney World, a refrigerator or cooler is an essential item for many guests.

Are you concerned about food allergies, need to keep medications cool, or just hoping for an ice cold soda after long days of standing in line at its parks?

Yes, Disney resort rooms do have refrigerators. These refrigerators are typically small in size, but are suitable for storing drinks, snacks, and small items such as medication. They can be found in the rooms of most Disney resorts, including the Disney Deluxe Resorts, Disney Moderate Resorts, and Disney Value Resorts.

Additionally, some rooms in Disney’s deluxe resorts have mini-fridges with freezers. The feature of having refrigerator in room is very convenient for the guests to store and keep their food, drinks and other essentials cool during their stay at Disney resorts.

Whether you’re packing leftovers from your meals or cool beverages from home, having easy access to cool refreshments can be an invaluable convenience.

In this article, I’ll be giving you a behind-the-scenes look at keeping things cool, which resort rooms Disney World have refrigerators, and what your options are.

In-Room Refrigerators and Beverage Coolers

If you are looking to store snacks and drinks while visiting a Disney Resort hotel, many come equipped with an in-room fridge or a small beverage cooler. The following Walt Disney World Resort Hotels have been known to include refrigerators in their rooms:

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Resort Area

In-room Refrigerators at Disney’s All-Star Music Resort
In-room Refrigerators at Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort
In-room Refrigerators at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort

EPCOT Resort Area

Having access to an in-room refrigerator can be really convenient for those staying at one of these resorts. It provides extra storage space for groceries or snacks if needed and can help maintain the temperature of food items like milk or cheese by keeping them chilled. And since the refrigerator runs on electricity from the room itself, it doesn’t have to be replenished often as it does not run off a special cooling unit like most mini bars do. This makes for easy access throughout your stay without having too much maintenance hassle.

So if you’re looking for an added convenience when planning your visit to a Disney resort hotel, consider checking out the list of rooms that come with an in-room refrigerator!

In the event that you’re staying at a Resort hotel that does not feature its own in-room refrigerator or beverage cooler, please call housekeeping when you arrive and request to have one placed in your room (subject to availability).

Do Disney resort rooms have a freezer?

The mini-refrigerators in the value resort hotel rooms are small and do not have a freezer. The moderate and deluxe resorts, on the other hand, provide mini-refrigerators with a small freezer section included.

If a refrigerator with regular, full-size freezer compartment is an absolute must-have, one great option is Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Cabins. This fun and enjoyable resort features the perfect accommodations to make your stay a memorable one, such as their cabins that have a full-sized fridge and freezer.

Alternatively, you can choose from any of the 1-bedroom, 2-bedroom or 3-bedroom Villas in the Disney Vacation Club properties at Walt Disney World Resort. Like the cabins at Fort Wilderness Resort, these all come equipped with a full sized refrigerator and freezer for storing food or freezing treats.

Any of the villas, cabins or bungalows with full sized refrigerators will have a normal freezer.

Should I bring a cooler to Disney World?

At Walt Disney World, you are welcome to bring a small cooler with food and beverages to enjoy throughout the day – but there are some restrictions. Coolers larger than 24″ long x 15″ wide x 18″ high (61 cm x 38 cm x 46 cm) are not allowed. You should also leave alcohol and glass containers at home as they are not permitted in any of the theme parks, water parks or NBA Experiences. To keep your items cold, you’ll need to use reusable ice packs – loose ice and dry ice are prohibited. When packing for the day, opt for food that can be eaten either cold or at room temperature, as there won’t be a microwave available to heat up your meals in the parks.

If you have items that must be kept on ice, Disney Resorts offer ice machines that will provide you with ice at no additional charge for items that need to be kept cold. Your resort map, which you’ll receive upon checking in, will indicate the location of the ice machine. You are also allowed to bring your own cooler into the guest room and fill it with ice if needed.

What is the procedure for requesting an in-room refrigerator or beverage cooler?

If you’re staying at a resort hotel that doesn’t have an in-room refrigerator or beverage cooler you can call housekeeping and request one to be placed in your room (subject to availability). The procedure is simple and easy to follow, just call housekeeping and they will assist you with the request.

Are there any additional fees associated with having a refrigerator or cooler in the room?

Similar to microwaves, if for some reason your room does not have a mini-fridge, then you can call the front desk and request one. If there is one available they will deliver it to your room and there should be no extra charge for this. Just make sure to double-check with the front-desk to be 100% certain as things are always changing at Disney.

Is it possible to request a refrigerator or cooler in advance when booking a room?

Depending on how you book your room, you may or may not have the option to request a refrigerator during the booking process. If your resort is listed among those above, then you should be able to assured that your room will have one.

If you’re booking through a travel agent, then make sure that you express your desire to have a mini-fridge in the room so that they can accommodate your wishes. Same thing goes if you’re calling the Walt Disney World Reservation phone number to book your room. When you’re speaking with an actual human you can request that you get a room with a fridge.
